The Klingstedt Scholarship is a scholarship awarded in honor of Dr. John Paul Klingstedt who was the first recipient of a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of North Texas in 1969. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time accounting major who demonstrates academic excellence.

Hi! My name is Theresa Howrey. I am 24 years old and live in Wylie. I will be interning with KPMG in the Spring and I am very excited about it. I thank my wonderful professors at UNT for pushing me to my fullest potential. I will also always be grateful for receiving the $500 Klingstedt scholarship because it has really helped to ease the burden that paying tuition brings.
